Jisc Analytics Labs Service - Privacy Notice  

The following information is needed for us to provide you with the Jisc Analytics Labs Service. We’ll use it, as described in our standard privacy notice (at, to provide the service you have requested as a participant in/user of the Analytics Labs service, as well as to identify problems or ways to make the service better. We’ll keep the information until you tell us it is no longer needed, or you no longer wish to receive the service.

We’ll process the personal data you submitted as part of your application to receive the Analytics Labs service, including but not limited to, first name, surname, job title, Institution email address and phone number, declarations of interest areas, expertise and your supporting statement. By processing this data in the Analytics Labs Service we are able to keep you updated of service developments and support you in your participation in Analytics Labs. 

Other types of personal data are processed in the Analytics Labs Service.  The service uses personal data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).  Where data is provided HESA will have identified the lawful grounds for processing this data.  If you have any queries about the way in which HESA deals with personal data please contact HESA directly at  

Where participants use institutional data sets or open data sets containing personal data, they will have obtained all necessary consents and permissions allowing them to process this data in the Analytics Labs service.

You are able to opt out of the service during the contracted duration of your participation in Analytics Labs, or afterward regarding further engagement with the service. 

You can stop passing your data to us and other 3rd parties that have been appointed to deliver Analytics Labs services at any time by notifying us of your decision at (using ‘Analytics Labs’ in the subject line).

Jisc may from time-to-time appoint sub-contractors to help us deliver the Jisc Analytics Labs Service.  The contracts we put in place with our sub-contractors will require them to implement and maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures to safeguard the personal data they receive from us. Our sub-contracts also prohibit them from using your information for anything else.
